Interaction Meeting Post- Value Added Tax issues

UMDA & Small Industries Service Institute(SISI) Conducted a Post VAT Interaction meet 12th August 2005 at SISI conference hall,Rajajinagar, Bangalore.

Shri.S.Ramesh, Gen.secretary welcomed the participants.

The Programme was inaugurated by Shri.S.S.Dhillon, Director, SISI. In his inaugural address, he emphasized the importance of VAT and its importance contribution to the state exchequer and in bringing the fundamental change in the tax structure. He also informed that SISI has been, conducting various programmes on ISO, Awareness Programmes, Impact of WTO, Intellectual Property rightly, Geographical Indication etc., for the promotion and development of small scale industries.

Shri R. Sampath kumar, Dy. Director (chem.) ,SISI, Banalore gave the insight of the programme. He said SISI had joined hands with UMDA and created a platform by organizing one day interaction Meet with small scale industries and officials of commercial Tax department to clarify the various doubts/issues faced by them.

In his key note Address, Shri.N.G.Sabhahit,President,UMDA said the Activities of UMDA & SISI has been very helpful to SSIs in conducting number of programmes.On understanding about various problems/doubts relating VAT issues , they have joined hands with UMDA in organizing this programme.

Shri.D.M.Shridhar ,Sr.Dy.Commissioner, Commercial taxes /VAT , Govt of Karnataka explained the advantages of VAT System, Rebating, return ,Examples of billing under VAT, Vat record keeping requirements.

Shri Shankar.C.Nagali, Joint secretary, UMDA proposed vote of thanks.

The interaction meet was chaired by D.M.Shridhar,Sr.Dy.Commissioner & Shri. Y.C.Shiva kumar, Dy.Commissioner(Legal) ,Commercial Taxes/VAT,Govt of Karnataka.

The meeting Discussed various subject. 125 people present in the meeting . The Meeting ended with vote of thanks & Dinner.
